LUBBOCK, Texas — Behind the 15th 30 plus point performance in Audi Crooks’ career, Iowa State (17-5, 5-5 Big 12) defeated No. 21 Texas Tech (20-3, 7-3 Big 12) 84-70, at the United Supermarkets Arena Wednesday
night.
Crooks poured in a game high 33 points, going 13-of-19 from the field and a perfect 7-for-7 from the line. Jada Williams followed with 15 points, and nine assists, while Sydney Harris added an efficient 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting (3-of-4 from beyond the arc).
Crooks and Harris each contributed a double-double, with both pulling down 12 rebounds.
Iowa State shot 48.4% (31-of-64) from the field and 46.7% (7-of-15) from beyond the arc, while forcing the Lady Raiders into 12 turnovers.
The Cyclones opened the game on a 6-0 run, two points from Jada Williams and four from Crooks, and built a 26-18 lead after one quarter. Iowa State extended their advantage to 40-38 at halftime and never trailed the rest of the way, leading by as many as 21 in the fourth.
Texas Tech was paced by Sidney Love’s 17 points, while Snudda Collins and Bailey Maupin each added 16 points. Former Cyclones Denae Fritz and Jalynn Bristow scored eight and six points respectively.
Iowa State will return home next Saturday to face UCF. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. inside Hilton Coliseum.
