Bayern Munich’s women’s team has wrapped up preseason with two wins and one draw.
The Frauen kicked things off with their first ever tour of Asia, spending a few days in Japan and getting a 4-1 win over local club RB Omiya Ardija.
After returning to Germany, they faced FC Nürnberg in a Bavarian friendly of sorts. Bayern found themselves taken slightly aback by conceding once in each half, but goals from Linda Dallmann and Pernille Harder gave them a 2-2 draw. Harder also missed a penalty, leaving Bayern to rue
their chances.
The last game of preseason came at the future home of the Frauen, the Sportpark Unterhaching. Bayern played French runners-up Paris FC, and won 2-0 with goals from Harder and Alara. Both goals came in the first half, and the second half was subdued, most likely due to the scorching temperatures.
Preseason was also notable because it allowed new signings like Sarah Mattner and Kassandra Potsi to make their debuts for Bayern, and also allowed some youngsters to get some minutes as well. Such names included the likes of Ella Rauscha, Laura Dafinger, and Clara Choisy, the latter two coming fresh off becoming European champions with Germany.
Bayern will now officially kick off the season with the DFB-Supercup against VfL Wolfsburg next Saturday. The game will be held in Ingolstadt.
