The Kansas City Chiefs have announced two roster decisions in advance of Sunday’s Week 3 “Sunday Night Football” matchup against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Wide receiver Xavier Worthy (shoulder) isn’t making the trip to the east coast, having been downgraded
to out for this game. He continues to work his way back from the torn labrum he sustained when his shoulder was dislocated in the team’s season-opening loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. There had been some thought that Worthy would be available to play on Sunday, but the team has decided to play it safe after once again listing him as questionable in Friday’s final injury report. He was limited in all three of this week’s reported practices.
The team made no mention of the other player who was listed as questionable for the game: rookie wideout Jalen Royals (knee), who was a full participant in Thursday and Friday’s sessions. This suggests that Royals will be active for the game.
The team has also elevated practice squad cornerback Kevin Knowles to the active roster for Week 3. This means he will automatically return to the practice squad after the game. He is eligible for one more elevation in 2025.
