The Michigan Wolverines advanced to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in Big Ten play on Saturday after taking down Wisconsin, 24-10, in front of a Maize Out crowd at the Big House.
Sherrone Moore and company strategically used this weekend to their advantage, having this be the first big recruiting weekend of the season. A ton of top targets were in attendance for the game spanning from the 2026 class to the 2028 class, but it’s an in-state player from the 2027 class that has been predicted to eventually commit
to the Wolverines.
On Saturday night, Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong placed a prediction for 2027 four-star edge rusher Recarder Kitchen to wind up in Ann Arbor. That was the second prediction to be placed in favor of the Wolverines, as On3’s EJ Holland placed one of his own last November.
“It was a great atmosphere,” Kitchen told Wiltfong ($). “…They’re the ones doing the main thing I’m looking for in a college which is relationships. It’s more than football. I want to know who’s going to build me as a man. They’re always talking to me and checking up on stuff outside of football.
“It’s a big college. A lot of people have been through there. There is people in the league from there and it’s a great place.”
Kitchen is the No. 102 overall player in the class on 247Sports’ composite. He is also the No. 13 edge rusher and No. 2 player from the state of Michigan. He holds other offers from Michigan State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Pitt, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC and more.
He has not given a timeline for when he plans to commit, but based on these comments he gave Wiltfong, it definitely wouldn’t surprise to see Kitchen in Michigan’s 2027 class at some point before it’s all said and done.
