Among the numerous quality NFL players the Michigan defensive line has produced in recent years, defensive end Derrick Moore could very well join the ranks.
Moore was a crucial piece of the Wolverines’ front for all four of his seasons, appearing in 53 games with 24.5 TFLs, 21.0 sacks, eight pass deflections, three fumbles forced and three fumbles recovered, all while earning first-team All-Big Ten by the coaches’ honors in 2025, second-team among the media, and honorable mentions in 2023 and 2024.
Moore was also a team captain in his senior campaign and earned team Defensive Player of the Year and Bo Schembechler Most Valuable Player nods.

Projections
Moore is a fringe second-round, likely third-round player who should establish himself early on as a rotational, pass-rush heavy 4-3 defensive end or 3-4 outside linebacker. He could benefit from some added frame, perhaps situating himself more comfortably all along the defensive line.
However, despite not having astounding physical abilities, Moore knows how to get after the passer, and there is not a single team in the NFL that could not benefit from his skill set.
