While the roots of our website date back almost 20 years, 2026 will mark our 15th anniversary as the Chiesa di Totti. Since the New Year is a time for reflection, I’d be remiss not to take a moment to thank everyone for their continued support. We’ve been through so many changes since 2012, but one thing has remained constant: this community. CdT has been a part of me for nearly a third of my life, and I cannot imagine what I would do without it, so thank you for your encouragement, feedback, insight,s
and continued support—and here’s to a prosperous 2026!
Okay, onto the rumors!
As we discussed earlier this week, acquiring Giacomo Raspadori could be a game-changing addition for Gian Piero Gasperini and the Giallorossi. With his shape-shifting abilities, Raspadori can bring an element of chaos that Gasperini’s attack lacks: the ability to drop in between the lines, operate in half-spaces, and pull defenders off their moorings. He may not singlehandedly change Roma’s fortunes, but he can help make Gasperini’s visions a reality.
And while the Raspadori-to-Roma rumor hasn’t gone through the same nauseating confirmation-denial cycle as Jadon Sancho over the summer, his path to Roma hasn’t been a straight line either. However, with the January transfer window now open, hope is on the horizon.
According to Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto, a deal between Roma and Atletico Madrid is imminent. Moretto reports that Roma will acquire Raspadori on a six-month loan with an option to buy, and the only remaining step is to reach an agreement with the player himself.
Stay tuned!
