The Golden State Warriors head to Southern California as they prepare to take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM PT in Los Angeles and can be watched on Peacock and NBC Sports Bay Area.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State has now won three of their last four games following a 123–114 win over the Utah Jazz
on Saturday night. The game got off to a rough start, however, as they trailed 65-58 after the first half. Draymond Green — who opened the night with eight quick points — was ejected in the second quarter after picking up his second technical foul while arguing a call.
However, the Warriors stepped up in the third quarter, outscoring the Jazz, 42-31. Steph Curry led the way scoring 20 of his team-high 31 points in the third, while Jimmy Butler added 15 points, seven assists, and three rebounds to help steady Golden State down the stretch.
What to watch for tonight:
The Warriors are expected to be at full strength for Monday night’s game, which will be needed against a Clippers team that has found its rhythm as of late. Despite Los Angeles’ 12–22 record, the Clippers have won six of their last seven games behind the dominant play of Kawhi Leonard.
Prior to the team’s loss to the Boston Celtics on Saturday, the two-time NBA champion was averaging 40 points per game during their six-game winning streak. Leonard has been especially lethal from beyond the arc, shooting 37.9% from three on a career-high 7.0 attempts per game. This means the Warriors could have their hands full — particularly given their struggles this season against opposing teams’ top scorers.
