Lamine Yamal has been enjoying teasing Marc Cucurella after the former Barcelona defender secured a move to Real Madrid during World Cup 2026.
The transfer means that Yamal will come up directly against Cucurella next season when Barcelona face their bitter rivals in El Clasico.
Yamal has been asked if he’s been teasing his Spain team-mate about the move and told Cope: “I told him he’s going to start the first game and be a substitute in the second because I’m going to eat him alive!”
The Barcelona
teenager had a few digs at Real Madrid last season which led to a confrontation with Dani Carvajal on the pitch at the end of October’s meeting between the two sides which Madrid won.
Yamal was asked if he regretted those comments and offered up the following reply: “No, it’s football. In the end, they celebrated the match and lost at our ground. I haven’t spoken to Carvajal since, and I don’t speak to anyone from Real Madrid.”
