The Yankees kicked off their playoff push with back-to-back solid results, taking series against the Astros and Blue Jays. Coming off of the ending of their last meeting with the Red Sox, the Yanks are on an 11-3 run that has them sitting just below the edge of Toronto’s spot atop the AL East and just above Boston for the top Wild Card spot. Now they face the back-half of this stretch against the competition, seeing the Tigers and Sox one last time before their fate is decided by a combination of their effort
and others.
For all the struggles that this Yankees team has gone through, they’re right where they want to be in terms of competing for postseason standing. Everything is still on the table, and they’re playing the best baseball that they’ve displayed since the beginning of the year. Are they finally going to get one over on the Red Sox to secure their lead on them? Will Aaron Judge’s arm strength in right field recover with time, or will the team be forced to DH him again at some point? Have they managed to round into form at last, or do you still need to see more from them? If you have questions like this, or anything else on your mind, send ‘em in for a chance to be featured in our Yankees mailbag.
Answers will run on Friday afternoon. All questions received by the night of September 11th will be considered. You can leave your submissions in the comment section below or by e-mail to pinstripealleyblog [at] gmail [dot] com.
