The Division Series round is off, and boy did we have a couple of blowouts. The Yankees let us down, letting go of the rope in a game that was tight until it wasn’t, dropping Game 1 to the Blue Jays 10-1.
They weren’t the only team to get crushed, the Brewers absolutely clubbing Cubs lefty Matthew Boyd en route to a 9-3 drubbing. Elsewhere, the Dodgers hung on against the Phillies, while the Tigers and Mariners played a thriller in Seattle.
We’ll continue to digest the Game 1 disappointment today, Kunj ruminating on how the Yankees seemed to play their biggest hits last night, and Maximo finding a way to name a player of the game. Also, Matt will detail the other games from yesterday, and later, John will spin through a playoff edition of Yankees social media roundup.
