Few players in world football can dictate the flow of an attack quite like the gifted playmaker. Whether Germany dominates possession or needs a moment of creativity to break down a stubborn defense, Wirtz has the vision and technical quality to make the difference.
Then there is Jamal Musiala. If he is fully fit and operating at his best, Musiala remains Germany’s most unpredictable
attacking weapon. His ability to glide past defenders and create opportunities out of nothing makes him a constant threat. Against an athletic Ivory Coast side, his dribbling could be exactly what Germany needs to create space in dangerous areas.
Kai Havertz is another strong candidate. The Arsenal forward has often delivered on the biggest stages for Germany and possesses a knack for finding himself in the right place at the right time. Of course, the Man of the Match does not always come from the attack. Joshua Kimmich could earn the honor by controlling the midfield battle and setting the tempo from deep positions. Meanwhile, Nico Schlotterbeck could emerge as the standout performer if the match turns into a physical defensive battle. His passing range, aerial ability, and willingness to step forward with the ball could prove crucial against an Ivory Coast side that has already shown it can be difficult to break down.
The beauty of this matchup is that it should provide a much sterner test than Germany’s opener. If Germany wins comfortably, expect one of the attacking stars to grab the headlines. If the match becomes a tense, hard-fought contest, a player like Kimmich or Schlotterbeck could end up being the difference-maker.
