We’ve speculated on why it happens in the past, but this time we’ll simply tell you that pro wrestling legend Ric Flair is once again walking back a statement he made about someone, or something.
This time it’s recent comments the Nature Boy made about Ludwig Kaiser.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani last week, Flair claimed he wasn’t invited to WrestleMania 42 by WWE because he left Kaiser a threatening voicemail last year when the WrestleMania 41 feud between Ric’s daughter Charlotte and Kaiser’s
then-girlfriend Tiffany Stratton got personal. The 77-year-old Nature Boy not only mistakenly believed he could take the 35-year-old German who currently wrestles as El Grande Americano in a fight, he also thought Kaiser was 24, English, and unemployed instead of one of Lucha Libre AAA’s most popular acts.
But yesterday (April 27), the two-time WWE Hall of Famer sent Kaiser an apology on X/Twitter. We’ll spare you Ric’s signature Title Case in our transcription, but the original is below… For Those Who Prefer Their Flair Tweets The Way Naitch Intended:
Mr. Ludwig Kaiser – I never implied that you couldn’t work, or didn’t have talent. I actually understand that you are doing really well with The Undertaker’s promotion. I am sorry that I got upset. I am naturally very protective of my daughters as I am sure as you grow older, you will be too. Continued success! I apologize for anything I said about you personally. It was not about your professional skill which I have heard is very good.
Flair didn’t mention his claim that WWE banned him from WrestleMania 42 as a result of his threatening call to Kaiser last spring, but a recent report says officials at the company didn’t even recall anything about that when asked.
So that’s that. Until the next time Naitch retracts some outlandish comments.
