It has been a busy summer for Leon Goretzka this year. After leaving Bayern Munich once his contract expired, it was mostly quiet when it came to Goretzka’s next club. However, in a late transfer, Goretzka announced he would be joining Premier League side and Europa League champions, Aston Villa. Unfortunately for both Goretzka and Villa though, the midfielder recently shared on Instagram that his body has reacted to the increasing workload after his time away and will now need a short break before
coming back to full strength.
Perhaps the summer break for the German midfielder comprised of too much relaxation and not enough training. It is certainly going to be frustrating for the Aston Villa midfielder to blow a first impression with his new team, and to possibly miss what might have been a national team call up from Klopp’s new Germany in September.
Fans will now have to wait until October to see what the German veteran has to offer in the Premier League.
