For many players, their preferred position is a major talking point. For Konrad Laimer, it simply is not.
Asked where he expects to play this season, the Austrian made it clear that he is happy wherever he is needed.
“I have no idea. I feel comfortable in a lot of different positions. Over the last two years, I’ve mostly played at right-back, but also occasionally at left-back. I think I can help the team there with my qualities. Where I play doesn’t matter to me, as long as I’m out on the pitch,”
Laimer said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
That team-first mentality has become one of Laimer’s defining characteristics since arriving at Bayern Munich. Whether deployed in midfield, at right-back, or even on the left side of the defense, he approaches every role with the same intensity, energy, and commitment.
In an era where many players have clear positional preferences, Laimer stands out for his willingness to adapt. His versatility gives Vincent Kompany valuable flexibility, but for Laimer, the role itself is almost irrelevant.
As long as he is contributing on the pitch and helping Bayern Munich win, he is satisfied. That selfless attitude is one of the many reasons he has become such an important player for the club.
