We’re still trying to finish off the Austin Peay Governors, who like the weather just haven’t cooperated this afternoon. But the college football world isn’t going to stop for events in Athens, as the schedule proceeds apace this evening with some solid football around the SEC and beyond.
The evening’s biggest matchup is the top twenty showdown between #15 Michigan and #18 Oklahoma on ABC at 7:30 EST. It will be a great chance for us to see if new Oklahoma QB John Mateer is as good as his 392 week
1 passing yards would imply.
In other action #12 Arizona State travels to Starkville to take on undefeated Mississippi State (7:30 EST, ESPN2). I’m taking this opportunity to call them undefeated Mississippi State because I’m not sure when I’ll get another chance to use that phrase.
If your tastes trend toward the truly degenerate Georgia Southern travels to Southern Cal (7:30, FS1) and while I don’t expect Clay Helton’s Eagles to beat the Men of Troy it would be extraordinarily funny if they did. Vanderbilt takes on Virginia Tech on the Commodores’ natural home, the ACC Network, and UL-Monroe travels to Alabama (7:45, SEC Network) for a game that is 99% sure to end with a Tide victory, but could spawn an actual citizens arrest of Kalen DeBoer if the other 1% comes to fruition.
So sit back, relax, and try not to think about the Tennessee Volunteers. It’ll only make things worse.
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
