Barcelona’s financial situation remains an issue ahead of the summer transfer window but the club are reportedly still optimistic they can make a major signing.
According to Diario Sport, Barcelona are “working intensively” on a transfer worth around €80-90 million and believe they can “incorporate a world-class player for that figure.”
Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez is believed to be the club’s top target, although Diego Simeone’s side continue to insist he is not for sale and is not going anywhere
this summer.
Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni is another player being continually linked with Barcelona. However, it’s thought he might be available for a fee of around €70m.
Barcelona are also looking at low-cost alternatives in case their financial issues persist over the coming months and they are unable to return to the 1:1 rule.
Atletico striker Alexander Sorloth and Mallorca’s Vedat Muriqi have emerged as possible alternatives to Alvarez this summer.
