Recap
1st Inning
Clemson’s Abby Dunning had a quick inning of the Seminoles in the opening frame. In the circle for FSU, Ashtyn Danley put a pair on base after a walk and hit by pitch. A fielder’s choice gave the ‘Noles an out, and put a runner at third base. A groundout gave Clemson a 1-0 lead to end the inning.
4th Inning
After three scoreless
innings for the ‘Noles, a rally began after a double from Shelby McKenzie. Dunning put Danley on via a walk. The Clemson defense got a ground ball out before a fielding error allowed Bella Ruggiero to reach, and scored McKenzie and Danley.
5th Inning
For the Tigers, reliever Bella Dimitrijevic walked a batter, and she reached second on a ground out. Dimitrijevic, who only held time in the circle for 3.1 innings, was taken out and Danley returned. Danley allowed back to back singles, one of which resulted in an RBI, making it 2-2.
6th Inning
With Dunning still pitching, she got the first two outs of the 6th. A walk to Ruggiero continued the inning, and brought up Anna Hinde. A 1-0 count was taken out of the park, as the freshmen gave FSU a lead back.
7th Inning
FSU looked to hold the score, while Clemson looked to tie or win the ballgame. The Tiger defense only allowed two baserunners in the top of the frame, but kept FSU off the scoreboard.
In the bottom of the inning, Danley looked toward her seventh win of the season. A ground out and back to back fly balls got Danley out of the inning, and got her and her team the 4-2 win.
