Well, here we all are. After seven months of football drought with the occasional oasis here and there (the combine, the draft, preseason), we have finally reached the land of plenty. Houston Texans football will officially be underway in a few short, short precious hours.
But will they be on your television at home or will you go seek out your local watering hole in hopes that the Texans are on at least one TV? Fortunately, the fine folks at 506 Sports (again, not a sponsor, but they do a terrific
job and I want them to have all the credit) have got us covered.
Here is the early game schedule for week one of the NFL.
We really made it, y’all.
CBS EARLY GAMES
Red: Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans (Announcers: Ian Eagle, Ross Tucker; Referee: Alex Moore)
Blue: Baltimore Ravens at Indianapolis Colts (Announcers: Andrew Catalon, Logan Ryan; Referee: Scott Novak)
Green: New York Jets at Tennessee BESFs (Announcers: Spero Dedes, Adam Archuleta; Referee: Land Clark)
Yellow: Cleveland Browns at Jacksonville Jaguars (Announcers: Tom McCarthy, Robert Turbin; Referee: Craig Wrolstad)
The Texans get the de facto America’s game of the week for the early slate; unfortunately for us, J.J. Watt has gotten the top color commentary job at CBS. But Ross Tucker is a terrific listen as well.
That said, the thought of being perceived by a, more or less, national audience both thrilling and horrifying. DON’T LOOK AT US!!!
And if, for whatever reason, you chose not to watch the Houston Texans opening game in favor of the NFC team on the other channel, I guess we can help you too. But really, we need to talk about your commitment to Houston Texans football.
FOX EARLY GAMES
Red: Atlanta Falcons at Pittsburgh Steelers (Announcers: Joe Davis, Greg Olsen; Referee: Brad Rogers)
Blue: Chicago Bears at Carolina Panthers (Announcers: Adam Amin, Drew Brees; Referee: Brad Allen)
Green: New Orleans Saints at Detroit Lions (Announcers: Kenny Albert, Jonathan Vilma; Referee: Alan Eck)
Yellow: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Cincinnati Bengals (Announcers: Kevin Kugler, Daryl Johnston; Referee: John Hussey)
Here’s what you need to know to watch the game tomorrow:
