Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal was the star of the show on Saturday, scoring a hat-trick in a 4-1 win
over Villarreal as Hansi Flick’s side extended their lead at the top of the table.The teenager spoke after the game and revealed his pubalgia issues are all in the past and that he’s now playing with a smile on his face once again.
“I wasn’t feeling well myself, it was a mix of everything, plus the pubalgia which I think is now behind me, but I wasn’t happy playing and I think it showed,” he said
afterwards.
“For the last week or so I’ve been feeling much better, I have that desire to smile on the pitch that I haven’t had for a long time and I’m very happy, now I’m happy playing.”
Yamal also spoke about his improving goalscoring stats, adding;
“People want me to score 100 goals at 16, I’d like that too, but little by little. Scoring one goal, two… Helping the team makes me very happy.”
“Very happy for today’s victory. I don’t know if the second one is one of the best goals….. I try to enjoy playing for this club, in this stadium.
“I try to enjoy myself and when I get matches like this it makes me enjoy. This is the club of my life and I’m very happy. Against Atletico everything is possible, we will give everything… The comeback is possible.”
Another hat-trick would do nicely next time out when Barcelona aim to come back from 4-0 down against Atletico in the Copa del Rey.
