After a solid start, the NBA playoffs have taken a turn for the worst for Brooklyn Nets fans when it comes to a hate-watching perspective. The New York Knicks, yes, those New York Knicks are on their way to the NBA Finals. While whoever comes out of the West will surely be favored over New York, they’re on top of the world right now, and will stay up for another week and a half at the very least.
So, if need something to look away toward, you’re in the right place. Our Nets are still on vacation with
Summer League still a ways away. Here’s what everyone is up to.
Gone Fishing…
Michael Porter Jr. posted a variety of photos in Paris last week, but more recently shared a slideshow featuring several of his teammates. He, Egor Dëmin, Danny Wolf, Drake Powell and Ben Saraf set sail together, surely looking to land something tastier than what you’d pull in closer to home.
If last year’s Nets unit can hang their hat on anything, it’s locker room vibes. Veterans and young players alike often raved about the team’s chemistry and camaraderie. Their offseason activities already indicated that wasn’t just fluff for the media.
That, or they just want to follow in the footsteps as former Net Ben Simmons. Yes, this is a real fishing team, that he’s really on, that won this real tournament.
Egor Dëmin Speaks on X
Dëmin’s also been accessible of late on X (formerly Twitter). He’s responded to a handful of posts on there of the past few days, assumedly joking around with NBA fans more than anything. One Shai Gilgeous-Alexander stan account attempted to call out Dëmin for using an GIF on Instagram featuring the MVP, though he quickly diminished it as irrelevant.
A few days before that, he confirmed he’s working on growing out a stache. Riveting stuff, right?
In an undoubtedly more impactful endeavor, Dëmin also recently got out to a Brooklyn Basketball clinic to spend some time with younger fans.
Repping the New York Liberty
Neither Noah Clowney nor Day’Ron Sharpe posted about their latest trip back to the Barclays Center, but they were there over the weekend supporting the New York Liberty. Josh Minott also joined them.
The Libs are off to a rather disappointing start this year, but the support from Brooklyn will surely remain there. Both teams have an extensive history of showing up and supporting each other through thick-and-thin. Jalen Wilson, Nolan Traoré, and Dëmin were there for the opener right before that…
Sharpe also reportedly crossed over to at least watch the Knicks during their first conference finals game vs Cleveland. At least that game was fun, for a little while.
