Baseball

Softball

Isa Torres has been named the D1Softball and Softball America National Player of the Week:
The nation’s top hitter continued to shine last week as she displayed her power as the junior hit five home runs in four games this past week. Torres got her week started in a big way by hitting two solo home runs to lead the Noles to a rivalry win over No. 8 Florida. Torres continued her hot streak and hit two more home runs in the series opener against Georgia Tech. Torres added one more home run in Sunday’s extra-innings win over the Yellow Jackets.
Torres has had a power surge as of late as the Georgetown, Texas, native has hit nine home runs in her last 13 games and is up to 16 home runs this season. Prior to this season, Torres has never had more than nine home runs in a season. The National Player of the Year candidate leads the country with a .569 batting average, is second in the country with a .633 on-base percentage, third in the country with 82 hits and seventh in the country with a 1.083 slugging percentage. Torres is also top 20 in the country in total runs and triples.
Torres has also been the best defender in the country this season. Torres has zero errors in 142 chances and is the only infielder in the country to have zero errors in 125 or more chances.
Ashtyn Daniels has also been named the ACC Pitcher of the Week:
Danley was terrific as the two-way player picked up three wins including a win over No. 8 Florida on Wednesday. In 11.2 innings, Danley allowed just one earned run on five hits. Danley was masterful against the Gators on Wednesday night as she held the top 10 Gator offense in check. Danley pitched four scoreless innings and allowed just two hits to secure the win. She made appearances in the final two games of the series against Georgia Tech and allowed just one run on three hits in 7.2 innings.
While doing all of this in the circle, Danley also hit the game-winning home run in the top of the ninth against Georgia Tech on Sunday. Danley recorded four hits over the course of the week.
Basketball
Ice Brady has signed with the Seminoles women’s basketball program.
Per FSU SID:
Brady, who won the National Championship with UConn in 2024-25, appeared in 73 games over three seasons for the Huskies, starting 15. Brady also helped UConn to a Final Four appearance in 2024.
Brady averaged 4.5 points and 3.3 rebounds en route to becoming a national champion. She made a key contribution in the Final Four win over UCLA, scoring five points.
As a redshirt freshman Brady was named to the 2024 Big East All-Tournament team after starting and playing all 40 minutes in the final two games of the tournament. She scored 13 points, eight rebounds and two steals against Georgetown in the title game.
Brady set a career high with 17 points against St. John’s and 14 rebounds against Xavier.
Prior to UConn, Brady was the No. 5-ranked recruit by ESPN. She was a 2022 McDonald’s, Jordan Brand and SLAM All-American where she averaged 20.7 points, 12.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks as a senior at Cathedral Central Catholic High School.
A native of San Diego, Brady was named to the MaxPreps California All-State Third Team in 2022, after being named the 2021 San Diego Sports Association Player of the Year.
Brady was a part of the 2022 USA U18 National Team, and she won the gold medal at the U18 FIBA Women’s Americas, after Team USA defeated Canada.
FSU men’s basketball announced the signing of Shon Abaev:
Played freshman season at Cincinnati, where he appeared in 24 games with 12 starts…averaged 7.0 points and 2.9 rebounds per game for the Bearcats…scored 13 points at No. 1 Arizona…reached double-figure points in eight games, including a season-high 20 points and eight rebounds vs. NJIT…was a five-star prep prospect out of Calvary Christian Academy…also played in Overtime Elite and Under Armour Association Circuit…ranked as No. 22 prospect in the Class of 2025 in 247Sports Composite and as a unanimous top-30 player in the country…played in the 2025 McDonald’s All-American Game…led Calvary Christian to a 3A state championship his senior year…averaged 20.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game while leading the Eagles to 22-1 overall record…averaged 18.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while helping Calvary Christian reach 4A state playoffs his junior year…in his first year of varsity action, he averaged 12.0 points and 4.2 rebounds as a sophomore…was high school teammates with FSU signee Collin Paul.

Ava Povich, Bieke Schipperen, Reagan Terrell, Anna Hinde, Cade Cricchio, and Richie Leonard IV were named the winners of the ACC Top 6 For Service Award.

Kate Ockene is the Seminoles’ Female Rookie of the Year.
