Conor McGregor has one fight left on his UFC contract, and he wants it to be against Max Holloway.
McGregor and Holloway fought back in July, or were supposed to fight before McGregor blew his knee out on the first kick thrown of their bout. Now “The Notorious” says he’s halfway through rehabbing his injury and he wants “Blessed” again.
McGregor made his comments at a BKFC Glasgow post-event press conference, the first presser with the promotion that co-owner Conor has done in several months. He’s
said that BKFC is where he plans to fight after his UFC career ends, but he wants to end that career against Holloway.
“It has to be Holloway. It has to be,” a hyped up McGregor declared. “Just do the f–king thing again. The guy didn’t engage once. He’s the one that call for the stoppage of the fight. When he said, ‘Ref ref ref,’ he’s stopping the fight! So imagine I’d have just said, ‘Yes, yay!’ And just jumped the fence. ‘I won! He doesn’t wanna f–king fight.’ I’d have done him on the one leg. He wasn’t coming near me.”
“It was just so shocking and so heartbreaking to me,” he added. “And I’m still f–king dealing with it. It has to be Holloway. Come on. Just f–king dust it off. Re-do it. I’m on my way back. What’s it now? November? Three months I am over surgery. I done this injury before and returned within nine months. So nine months is pre-summer. So I just wanna go again and again.”
McGregor didn’t etch Holloway’s name in stone, and said he’d be open to other options … so long as those options were world class.
“Now, Holloway might be a jackass,” he said. “Something might happen. I don’t know. But a fighter that fights me, put some respect on my name. If you’re not a world champion fighter, if you’ve not got world accolades to your name, don’t even utter my f–king name. Because if you’re a national champion, if you’re a f–king regional champion, if you don’t f–k all or got a few likes, go f–k yourself.”
“Don’t mention my f–king name unless you’re a world caliber fighter.”
