Barcelona manager Hansi Flick offered an update on some of his injured players ahead of Monday’s clash with Girona in La Liga.
The bad news is that Marcus Rashford is still missing with a knee problem, but the good news is that Raphinha is back and ready to play again after missing the last three games for Barcelona.
“Rashford is ruled out for tomorrow. He is much better, but it must be taken step by step. Raphinha will be able to play,” he told reporters.
“I think Raphinha is very important. I’ve always
said it. We miss him when he’s not there, we see him in training as the dynamics and intensity of the team increases. I’ve said it more than once: for me, last season he was the best player in the world.”
And Flick also says that it won’t be too long before he’s able to count on midfielders Pedri and Gavi once again.
“Pedri will return this month, but with Gavi we will have to be careful. I liked what I saw in training. Maybe in February he won’t be there, but by March I think he is,” he added.
The return of Barcelona’s injured players will give Flick a big boost as we head into the business end of the season.
