The Kentucky Wildcats are about to get their season underway as they get prepped for their final exhibition game on Thursday night. That has not stopped Mark Pope and his staff from hitting the recruiting
trail, though, as they look to land their first commitment in the class of 2026.
As they wait out several of their top prospects in the class, it appears one player is close to making a commitment in the next few days.
According to Jacob Polacheck of KSR, 5-star forward Christian Collins is nearing a decision that could come this week. Collins is ranked as high as No. 7 overall in the class of 2026 by 247 Sports.
Ever since his official visit back in September, the Cats have been seen as a major player for the top-10 recruit. Alongside USC and UCLA, Kentucky seems in a good spot as the final decision nears.
Will the Cats be the choice? With a lot out there still in favor of Kentucky and Tyran Stokes, it’s hard to say where Collins could be leaning.
Something to monitor as we enter the final stages of Collins’ recruitment. If Coach Pope and his staff can land Collins, though, it would be a massive recruiting win heading into the season.
