I’ve been writing on this site for a long time now, over a decade actually, and I think you all have gotten to know me a little bit here and there. I used to be much more optimistic about what Purdue football could be and what they could do. But, given the changes in the college football landscape, it seems like all of that optimism has switched over to the basketball side of my fandom where I truly believe that Purdue can win it all this year and nothing, no wizard that there is or was, is ever
gonna bring me down when it comes to that belief. For football though? I’ve become more grizzled and sad. There have been highs during my time writing here for sure, who could forget the Tyler Trent game? The trip to the Big Ten Championship game (Big Ten West Champs!)? But, that’s not where we are now. Now? Now, we are sad. But, to the point about Ted Lasso in the subheader, we don’t have to be alone.
We’ve still got each other. We can entertain one another with Gifs, with comments, with funny observations, because as Ted says, there is something worse out there than being sad and that is being alone and sad. Ain’t nobody in this comment section alone. We can lift each other up through these last four games and look forward to basketball season and maybe onward, forward, we can reach a better day for Purdue football.
