Real Madrid have signed analyst Fran Lapiedra as an analyst for the first team. Lapiedra joins the white club from Valencia, as reported by Rodra of ESPN. Also supported by radio host Nacho Sanchis at A Punt Esports, Lapiedra had already communicated to Valencia that he was leaving at the end of the season.
He will now
join Jose Mourinho’s backroom staff that consists of eight members already, including former Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira. 51-year-old Lapeidra was an assistant coach in Valencia’s youth system from 2017 to 2020. In 2020, he was promoted to first-team analyst. Lapiedra has seen eight managerial changes at Valencia during his time as the analyst at the club. His most recent work has been under Carlos Corberán, who has been in charge of the club since 2024.
It is yet to be confirmed by Real Madrid what kind of specific work Lapiedra is going to be doing under Jose Mourinho.
