The Portland Trail Blazers have exercised the 2026-27 team option on the rookie scale contracts of guard Scoot Henderson, forward Kris Murray, and center Donovan Clingan, the organization announced Tuesday.
The league-wide deadline for exercising or declining team options on rookie scale contracts was Oct. 31. Henderson, Murray and Clingan were the only three players who Portland had to make a decision on before that date.
The decision locks in Henderson to a $13.6 million contract for the 2026-27
season, according to Spotrac. The No. 3 overall pick in 2023 is set to become a restricted free agent after that season, unless the Blazers sign him to a rookie contract extension before the 2026-27 season.
Clingan, the 2024 No. 7 overall pick, will now make $7.5 million during the 2026-27 season, according to Spotrac. The Blazers also have a team option on Clingan’s contract for the 2027-28 season. He’ll make $9.6 million that season if Portland exercises the option, per Spotrac. Barring a rookie contract extension, Clingan will enter restricted free agency during the 2028 offseason.
Murray, the No. 23 overall pick in 2023, is now on Portland’s payroll for $5.3 million during the 2026-27 season, according to Spotrac. Just like Henderson, Murray is also slated to become a restricted free agent during the 2027 offseason, barring a rookie contract extension.
The Blazers tip off the 2025-26 regular season against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday at the Moda Center at 7 p.m. PDT.
