Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Seahawks fans and fans across the country.
The Seattle Seahawks got their preseason off the ground with a lackluster showing against the Dallas Cowboys. It’d be more alarming if the lackluster performances came from Sam Darnold, Charles Cross, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Devon Witherspoon, Byron Murphy II, Ernest Jones, etc. But it’s preseason, and none of those players played last Saturday
and may not even play in the other two games.
Still, the Seahawks’ reserves were mostly unimpressive given their chance to shine at Lumen Field. The pass rush underwhelmed, the second- and third-team offensive line had some rough moments, and we’re still feverishly debating Jalen Milroe’s future. The young corners the Seahawks drafted on Day 3 struggled, and Rylie Mills’ pressures also came with some sub-optimal run defense snaps.
It’s preseason, which is overreaction season as much as it’s optimism season. Did anything from Saturday night concern you about the Seahawks’ roster depth? Of course, a lot of the Seahawks from last weekend are odds-on to get let go, but I think the likes of Elijah Arroyo, George Holani, Brady Russell, and Rylie Mills will be on this roster.
