CB Mansoor Delane
The Chiefs were on bye, and in their next game, Delane has a chance to have a huge week. Their Week 6 opponent is the Los Angeles Chargers, one of the worst teams in the NFL, and they’ve been struggling on offense. With Delane’s excellent start to the season, he could get an interception against Justin Herbert, and this could be a performance we look back on when the young CB wins defensive rookie of the year.
Safety A.J. Haulcy
After some struggles, Haulcy had a decent game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and got his
second pass deflection of the season. That may not look like a notable stat, but the little things can make a major difference in Haulcy’s development, especially with his early issues.
It’ll be interesting to see what Haulcy does against the Tennessee Titans this week. Like with Delane, this is a perfect oppurtunity to have a standout performance.
WR Zavion Thomas
We may be seeing more Zavion Thomas in the Bears offense moving forward. Against the Packers, Thomas had 1 reception for 11 yards and 1 rush for 11 yards. He was also in the offense more than we have seen, and he’s had a bigger impact in the return game. This was a great early performance in his career.
Next up, the Bears face the Atlanta Falcons, and with the Team trying to bounce back after a bad loss, head coach Ben Johnson will not be able to overlook Thomas on offense. Hopefully, Thomas can catch more than one.
TE Bauer Sharp
Once again, Sharp wasn’t involved on offense. Realistically, this will likely continue.
WR Barion Brown
Hopefully Barion Brown can make the impact Thomas did with the Bears, but he is still struggling in the return game and isn’t involved on offense. Kellen Moore’s offense hasn’t been good enough, and if the team makes a change at HC, the new playcaller could use Brown.
LB Harold Perkins
Compared to his other performances, Perkins had a quiet game in Week 5. The Baltimore Ravens are a tough offense to go against, even with QB Lamar Jackson being out, so it was going to be a challenge for Perkins. It wasn’t bad in any way, but Perkins may be able to make a bigger impact in the future with more development.
As I mentioned earlier, the Falcons will face the Bears, and with Caleb Williams out, Chicago’s offense has struggled. Could be a nice oppurtunity for Perkins.
QB Garrett Nussmeier
Did not play because Patrick Mahomes is healthy.
EDGE Jack Pyburn
Was inactive for the Chiefs.
