What is the story about?

In our Madden simulation of the Kansas City Chiefs’ 2025 season, we use the official 53-man roster — and account for wide receiver Rashee Rice’s six-game suspension. The Chiefs open the season with an 87 overall rating, with an 88-rated offense and an 87-rated defense.
Week 1: Chiefs 26, Chargers 20
- Charles Omenihu suffers a knee cartilage tear, sidelining him three to five weeks.
Week 2: Eagles 24, Chiefs 16
Week 3: Chiefs 38, Giants 21
- Patrick Mahomes earns AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors, finishing 19 of 27 for 268 yards and three touchdowns. He adds 36 rushing yards and a score on seven carries.
Week 4: Ravens 28, Chiefs 22
Week 5: Chiefs 24, Jaguars 0
- Mahomes once again names AFC Offensive Player of the Week, going 20-for-27 for 226 yards and three touchdowns, plus 10 carries for 66 yards.
Week 6: Chiefs 20, Lions 14
Week 7: Raiders 30, Chiefs 6

Week 8: Commanders 29, Chiefs 28
- Chamarri Conner dislocates his ankle. He’ll be out six to 10 weeks.
Week 9: Bills 35, Chiefs 33
- Patrick Mahomes claims AFC Offensive Player of the Week after going 26 of 35 for 265 yards and four touchdowns. He adds 31 rushing yards on seven carries.
Week 10: Bye Week
- At the break, the Chiefs sit at 4-5. Mahomes ranks second in the league in passing yards (2,076), trailing Joe Burrow of the Bengals (2,780). He has thrown 19 touchdowns to just one interception. Rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy leads the team with six touchdowns. Chris Jones and George Karlaftis share the team lead in sacks with 4.5 each, while Conner paces the defense with three interceptions.
Week 11: Chiefs 20, Broncos 13
Week 12: Chiefs 34, Colts 24
- Cornerback Kristian Fulton suffers an abdominal tear. He will miss two to four weeks.
Week 13: Chiefs 27, Cowboys 19

Week 14: Chiefs 23, Texans 17
- Linebacker Drue Tranquill earns AFC Defensive Player of the Week with 14 tackles, one sack and an interception.
Week 15: Chiefs 27, Chargers 25
Week 16: Chiefs 28, Titans 26

Week 17: Broncos 27, Chiefs 24
- Wide receiver Xavier Worthy suffers a broken thumb. He’s expected to miss three to seven weeks.

Week 18: Chiefs 28, Raiders 13

The Chiefs finish the year 11-6, winning the AFC West despite a roller-coaster campaign. Heading into the postseason, linebacker Drue Tranquill is sidelined with a torn labrum. He’s out for the season.
Offense
- Patrick Mahomes ranks fifth in passing with 4,010 yards, throwing 34 touchdowns to just seven interceptions. He also rushes for 493 yards and two scores.
- Isaiah Pacheco powers the ground game with 1,062 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns, plus 41 catches for 306 yards and three more scores.
- Travis Kelce leads the team in receptions (93), posting 1,031 yards with two touchdowns.
- Xavier Worthy catches 74 passes for 1,010 yards and eight touchdowns before his late-season thumb injury.
- Hollywood Brown contributes 72 receptions, 782 yards and 10 touchdowns.
- Rashee Rice, who served a six-game suspension, still produces 52 catches, 629 yards and eight touchdowns.
- JuJu Smith-Schuster tallies 14 receptions, 162 yards and a score.
Defense
- George Karlaftis leads the pass rush with 10 sacks, adding 42 tackles and eight tackles for loss.
- Chris Jones follows closely with 9.5 sacks and 55 tackles, including 11 for loss.
- Mike Danna adds five sacks.
- Drue Tranquill anchors the middle with 116 tackles (97 solo), plus 3.5 sacks and two interceptions.
- Nick Bolton finishes with 92 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
- Chamarri Conner picks off three passes and collects 55 tackles
- Trent McDuffie grabs two interceptions
- Jaden Hicks adds 45 tackles, half a sack and two interceptions.
