In Spanish radio program La Pizarra, Miguel Quintana analyzed Madrid’s defeat to Osasuna and shifted the focus beyond individual performances.
He began by highlighting Victor Muñoz:
“We all knew him from that play in Montjuic that could have equalized a Clasico, but the real breakthrough of Victor Munoz at the elite level we are seeing this season with Osasuna. His level is growing exponentially as the season progresses… In left, inside or right, but always at full speed. His football is sharp.”
On
Madrid’s use of young players: “Just look at how Gonzalo Garcia came on in the 75th minute in a game that demanded him since halftime and that he probably should have started.”
On Mbappe:
“Mbappe is not well. And he wasn’t fit to play. Not at least the whole match. On Saturday, in many plays, he was Osasuna’s third center-back. In the end, the problem for me was not Mbappe. Nor even the one who played him and didn’t take him off. It’s all structural.
He was clear about hierarchy:
“Avaro Arbeloa is playing this match with the same marked cards that Ancelotti and Xabi Alonso had before. It doesn’t matter what the match demands… what matters are the hierarchies of a club that has become completely dysfunctional. Real Madrid can improve as a team, but it will not fully heal as a club until Florentino Pérez puts the badge above the players again.”
