The Denver Broncos have their second game against the Kansas City Chiefs leaked with their rival visiting in Week 8. That means Denver will wrap up their annual regular season division rivalry with Kansas City before the halfway mark. They will open the season on the road on Monday Night Football in Kansas City and then host them on November 1st.
That is interesting, which could mean the Broncos will close out the season
in Week 18 against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chiefs seem primed to host the Las Vegas Raiders in their final game. The NFL is teeing up Patrick Mahomes for the AFC West if they can, you know, actually win some games this year.
That said, I won’t be crying over spilled milk having the Chiefs on the road in September instead of December. Give me that schedule break every year.
From November 2015 until October 2023, the Chiefs beat the Broncos an incredible 16 consecutive times. The second-most brutal stretch the Broncos have ever had against an AFC West rival. The worst being 20-straight against the Raiders back in the 60s. Since then, however, the Broncos have dominated the Chiefs winning four of their last five matchups. Though I’d be remiss not to mention that Mahomes was injured or benched in two of those wins.
Either way, I think this Denver team matches up well against Kansas City and it should be a competitive two games. If Denver can come away with wins in both, then they will be primed to challenge for the AFC West again in 2026.
