The Las Vegas Raiders signed running back Roman Hemby as an undrafted free agent.
Let’s take a closer look at Hemby:
Size:
5-11, 207 pounds.
College:
Indiana (2025), Maryland (2021-24).
College highlights:
Hemby was an honorable mention All Big-Ten selection in 2025. he started all 16 games for the National champion Hoosiers and he had 1,120 rushing yards on the season. He was also honorable mention All Big-Ten selection in 2022 and ‘23 for Maryland.
How he will fit in with Raiders:
Hemby has a chance to
remain being teammates with fellow Indiana product, rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza. The Raiders have a crowded running back room, but Hemby has a chance to stick behind starter, second-year player Ashton Jeanty and fourth-round pick Mike Washington. Hemby is a consistent, talented player who can also help on special teams. He should get a long look in training camp and in the preseason. If he doesn’t make the 53-man roster, he’s a strong candidate to start the season on the practice squad and be developed there.
