Qualifying offers were tendered to thirteen MLB players today, per multiple reports. The thirteen are:

Zac Gallen, SP, Arizona Diamondbacks
Trent Grisham, OF, New York Yankees
Shota Imanaga, SP, Chicago Cubs
Michael King, SP, San Diego Padres
Kyle Schwarber, DH, Philadelphia Phillies
Ranger Suarez, SP, Philadelphia Phillies
Gleyber Torres, 2B, Detroit Tigers
Kyle Tucker, OF, Chicago Cubs
Framber Valdez, SP, Houston
Astros
Brandon Woodruff, SP, Milwaukee Brewers
Players have until November 18 to accept or reject the qualifying offer. If they accept, they get a one year, $22.05 million contract. If they reject, a team signing them gives up one or two draft picks and, if they are a CBT payer, $1 million in international bonus slot money, and the team losing the player gets a compensatory draft pick.
There are several players who would seem to be potential candidates to accept the QO.
Michael King has only had two full seasons as a starting pitcher, and missed half of the 2025 season due to injury. He could opt to take the QO, return to San Diego, lengthen his starting resume (and hopefully put health concerns aside), and re-enter the market after 2026.
Shota Imanaga declined a $15 million player option after the Cubs declined their three year, $57 million option on him. His performance and velocity was down in 2025, and he could opt to take the guaranteed payday and try to re-establish himself.
Gleyber Torres signed a one year, $15 million deal with Detroit last offseason and responded with a solid if unspectacular .256/.358/.387 slash line and 2.9 bWAR. He’s the type of player whose market could be cooled significantly by the presence of the QO.
Dylan Cease and Zac Gallen both had bad years by their standards, but would seem to have the track record and upside that they’ll end up rejecting the QO, but I don’t know that I’d be shocked if either accepted.
Trent Grisham had the best season of his career, but it was the first time he has put up an OPS+ over 100 since 2021. He seems like the most likely candidate to accept.
