With Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to Atalanta in the Champions League, Enzo Maresca has equaled his longest winless streak as Chelsea manager. Though one of these four games felt like a win — getting a draw against Arsenal despite playing a man down for over an hour — it’s now two draws and two defeats since our delightful 3-0 win over Barcelona. Oh how quickly things can change!
One thing that hasn’t changed is our relatively okay injury situation. While Liam Delap is set to miss a few weeks with a shoulder
injury, it certainly could’ve been a lot worse for him. And it sounds like Wesley Fofana avoided any damage to his eye that started swelling up in the last game after getting an accidental boot in the face. Levi Colwill, Dário Essugo, and Roméo Lavia remain out, but Cole Palmer got the midweek off, and should be stronger now than last weekend.
Moisés Caicedo is unfortunately still suspended, the last game of his three-match ban.
