Juve to make January move for Boey? (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
Bayern Munich right-back Sacha Boey is the low man on the right-back totem pole in Bavaria, but could have an out in January, as Juventus and Galatasaray are both interested in the Frenchman:
Bayern Munich
could look to sell Sacha Boey in the January transfer window. The Bavarian giants are not planning to be active in the winter transfer market, as the club bosses have decided that the squad is good enough, and no additions are required. Bayern will only get stronger with the return of their injured players. However, Boey could be allowed to move on, either in January or next summer.
Serie A giants Juventus were interested in signing him last summer, but Bayern did not want to sell at that time. It is unclear whether the Old Lady would return for Boey, but they could be an option. It has been reported that Turkish club Galatasaray are keen to take him back to his old club, but our information does not confirm that. As it stands, if a club come up with a suitable offer for Boey, Bayern would be ready to negotiate.
It would be an advantageous time for Bayern Munich to sell Boey as his value (already not high) is unlikely to get higher. Should the Bavarians make the money while they can in January?
Bayern still in on Maignan (ESPN)
Bayern Munich will eventually need someone to take over for Manuel Neuer. If Neuer opts to retire or leave after this season, the Bavarians could kick the tires on AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan:
Chelsea and Bayern Munich are positioning themselves to sign AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. Both clubs are reportedly keen to sign the 30-year-old as a free agent, and they will both be able to offer him a pre-contract agreement when he enters the final six months of his deal in January. The Rossoneri aren’t confident of convincing Maignan to stay put, with sporting director Igli Tare having already begun the process of finding a replacement.
It seems unlikely that Neuer will retire or leave after this season, barring some kind of serious injury, so as of now…it seems like a pursuit of Maignan would be a long shot.
What can Brown do for City, Madrid? (Bild)
Manchester City and Real Madrid could be looking closely at Eintracht Frankfurt right-back Nathaniel Brown:
Nathaniel Brown (22) could make his second appearance for Germany on Friday in Luxembourg (8:45 pm). The left-back certainly deserves it. After all, he’s now delivering top performances for Eintracht Frankfurt, even in the Champions League.
Just over a year ago, nobody would have predicted this. After his move to Nuremberg, Brown didn’t make Eintracht’s European squad. He didn’t make his first league start until November 2nd, 2024. He scored in the 7-2 win against Bochum and improved steadily thereafter.
“Kai Havertz had a similar pace back then in Leverkusen. He turned professional at 17 and then played Champions League football relatively quickly. Ultimately, it’s like this with young players: if they listen and want to learn, and if they have a certain basic potential, it’s not unusual for them to go down that path,” Markus Krösche (45) draws an interesting comparison in the BamS interview.
Eintracht Frankfurt’s sporting director brought the young international player in from the second division last year for just €3 million (plus bonuses). Now, world-class clubs like Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Real Madrid have him on their radar.
Spanish left-back Marc Cucurella (27) moved from Brighton to Chelsea in 2022 for €65.3 million. As BILD has already reported, Eintracht Frankfurt is considering a similar fee for Brown . Or am I wrong, Mr. Krösche?
“Yes! Because he has three exceptional abilities that you can’t learn,” the sports boss clarified in the interview, explaining: “He’s smart and tactically astute, has great technique, and is very fast. And all of that is necessary to have a great career ahead of him.”
It seems a little early for the hype on Brown to explode this much, but as the old saying goes, “buy low, sell high.”
Milan wants Lewy (ESPN)
With Robert Lewandowski’s future uncertain at FC Barcelona and also with a strong desire to continue onward with his career, AC Milan could be eager to make a play for the Polish Hitman:
A move for Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski is being lined up by AC Milan, reports Tuttosport. The 37-year-old is yet to be offered a new contract by the Blaugrana, despite it expiring in the summer, and it is reported that he has no desire yet to join a team in either MLS or Saudi Arabia. Milan have already made contact with his representatives regarding a potential switch to San Siro, but discussions are expected to continue in the summer when he has freedom to move.
PSG eyeing Barca’s García (ESPN)
Paris Saint-Germain is keeping a close eye on FC Barcelona defender Eric García:
Paris Saint-Germain are focusing on Barcelona’s Eric García as they look to sign a versatile defender, as reported by L’Equipe, with this coming amid injury concerns for Les Parisiens after Achraf Hakimi became the latest player to be forced out of action. García’s contract expires in the summer, but if a deal progresses smoothly the Ligue 1 club could look to negotiate a fee for a January transfer rather than waiting for the 24-year-old to become a free agent in the summer.
Leverkusen to bring back loanee (Sport Bild via ESPN)
Bayer Leverkusen will bring back Kerim Alajbegovic early from his loan at Red Bull Salzburg:
Bayer Leverkusen will trigger the €5m-€6m re-sign clause to bring Kerim Alajbegovic back from RB Salzburg.
