Bayern, Liverpool battling for Belgian goalkeeper? (Transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri)
Bayern Munich’s future seems to be set at goalkeeper with Jonas Urbig, but this report indicates that the Bavarians could be battling with Liverpool to secure the signature of Belgian goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans:
🔴🦅 EXCL – Liverpool FC has targeted Lucca Brughmans to replace Giorgi Mamardashvili!
🔵🇧🇪 Also on FC Bayern Munich’s radar, the Reds are convinced by the future potential of the 2.00m-tall Belgian goalkeeper.
⌛️ Talks underway. #transfermarket #JPL #LFC
Aside of potentially brawling with
Urbig for the starting role in the future, the Bavarians could also view Brughmans as a “buy low, sell high” type of investment. If Bayern Munich believes there is a way to make money on the deal for the 18-year-old Genk netminder, it will likely explore that avenue.
However, HLN journalist Bob Faesen is reporting that Brughmans is likely on his way to Liverpool, despite any other interest:
UPDATE: Brughmans is on his way to Liverpool. Effectively, there is talk of a transfer fee of around 35 million euros as @sachatavolieri reports. There is a chance that the goalkeeper will still finish the season at Genk. @hlnsport

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in AC Milan winger Christian Pulisic, according to TEAMtalk. It is reported that the Premier League side have made an inquiry for the 27-year-old, having identified him as a potential alternative signing to Liverpool winger and Manchester City-linked Cody Gakpo. Spurs are among multiple teams to have checked on the situation of USMNT star Pulisic, who played no part in the 2-0 Serie A win over Venezia on Friday as he continues his return from injury.

Stomping on Montreal might win him another Ballon d’Or (Sofascore)
Imagine that Lionel Messi parlays the sympathy for his international retirement and a stomping of CF Montréal into another Ballon d’Or:
City to make move for Gakpo? (Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano)
One unexpected byproduct of Bradley Barcola potentially joining Liverpool is that Cody Gakpo could subsequently make a move to Manchester City:
🚨🔵⚪️ Manchester City confident to close all details of Cody Gakpo deal as soon as Liverpool agree to sign his replacement.
Deal will cost £85m and Gakpo gave his green light to signing a five year contract at Man City.
This seems like an odd move for Manchester City, but could be one to help bolster the attacking ranks for the rigors of this season.

Zirkzee to Fiorentina? Probably not (ESPN)
Former Bayern Munich striker Joshua Zirkzee is on the radar of Fiorentina:
Fiorentina are in discussions with Manchester United over a deal for Joshua Zirkzee. The Serie A side have not yet made a formal bid, but talks are ongoing. United are open to offers for the Dutchman, who has also been the subject of interest from Juventus and Napoli.
However, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Zirkzee shot the move down:
🚨🇳🇱 Joshua Zirkzee has turned down a move to Fiorentina after €5m loan plus €30m buy option clause proposal sent to Manchester United on Wednesday.
Juventus have approached Man United tonight for Zirkzee as they did with Newcastle for Woltemade, in case Jonathan David leaves.
United to take a run at Sørloth (ESPN)
Manchester United could take a last minute look at Norway striker Alexander Sørloth:
Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Alexander Sørloth, TEAMtalk reports. The Norway international has reportedly emerged as a possible arrival for the Red Devils before the transfer window shuts. Sørloth, 30, is open to leaving Atlético Madrid, while the Spanish club is also considering an exit if a suitable replacement can be found. For United, it comes as links over another striker have persisted through the summer, with a possible rotation option for Benjamin Sesko being touted. It’s a move that could also free up Joshua Zirkzee, who has been on the radar of several clubs this summer. Sørloth has previous Premier League experience, with a short stint at Crystal Palace, while he has since impressed in a rotation role for Atlético.
Real still eyeing Koné (ESPN)
Real Madrid is rumored to still have interest in AS Roma midfielder Manu Koné:
Real Madrid are keeping an eye on AS Roma midfielder Manu Koné and are considering him an option for future transfer windows, says AS. Los Blancos have been closely monitoring the 25-year-old’s performances and scouted him live on various occasions, but they consider their business in this window completed — even if they have a big-name departure, with Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouaméni being watched by Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea.
Chelsea might now be ahead of Real Madrid in the race, though, per ESPN:
Chelsea have made AS Roma midfielder Manu Koné their priority target to replace Enzo Fernández, says Footmercato. Koné, 25, has been linked with a €40 million exit all summer, but Argentina international Fernández completes a £120 million move to Manchester City before the window shuts.
