The grains of sand in the hourglass are running out. It’s time to immediately cut ties with second-year wide receiver Arian Smith.
Or at least that’s the opinion of some prominent Jets analysts on social media.
“Yes, it is a dead horse, but it cost them 3 points on a punt return whiffed tackle. Cut Arian Smith. He can’t play offense, and he can’t play special teams. Enough already,” Co-host of the Badlands podcast Joe Caporoso posted on X.
Smith has struggled as a wide receiver at the NFL level. However,
the reason he has stuck around on the roster is supposedly because of his superpowers on special teams. Well, it appears his only superpower on special teams is his inability to make an open-field tackle.
I don’t think that’s enough for him to receive an invite to join the Avengers anytime soon.
