- Dawgman continued its preview series by breaking down UW’s linebacking corps. The Dawgs played for the long term last year by using a red-shirt on Jacob Manu. That short-term pain should pay long-term dividends this year with a deep and talented room to anchor the defense. Manu joins ascending talents like Xe’Ree Alexander and Zaydrius Rainey-Sale in a group that could become one of the best in the country.
- Sports Illustrated ranked every QB in the Power 4 conferences and Demond Williams came in seventh out of 68 on the list. SI acknowledged Williams’s struggles against top defenses but noted that there aren’t many others around him on the list with a proven track record any better against the elite.
- Huskies Wire has a list of breakout candidates on the UW offense. With turnover at some of the skill positions, it makes sense that players like Jordan Clay and Quaid Carr would be candidates for bigger production.
- On the hardwood, the Dawgs announced that they will open the Maui Invitational against BYU. While AJ Dybantsa is in DC now, the Cougars still look like one of the best funded and most talented teams in the country, so it will be a baptism by fire for the new-look Huskies.
