This past week, I asked you questions each day about tomorrow’s Week 1 game between our Miami Dolphins and the Las Vegas Raiders. Below are the questions and some of your thoughts and answers:
What are your predictions, bold or otherwise, for the Miami Dolphins defense in this coming Sunday’s game Vs the Las Vegas Raiders? Who do you expect to lead the team in key categories like tackles, tackles for loss, pass breakups, interceptions, defensive touchdowns, etc? What are your stat-line projections
for our key playmakers this week?
Jptapt has been waiting on this for so damn long that they can’t stand it.
I’ve been defensive about the dolphins for about 25 years now. I’m ready to be offensive and start rubbing it in.
sdphinsfan has Chop and Rodriguez with big plays, allowing the Phins to double up the Raiders.
I see both teams trying to run the ball, alot. If that comes to fruition, there won’t be a ton of possessions, so I’m thinking a lower score than what we might be used to. Chop will get a big strip sack that will set us up for some key points and Rodriguez will get his first turnover as a pro. Need to keep Jeanty in check but I’m saying 20-10 Fins.
Saskatchefin has Brooks and Jrod stuffing the run all day long on the way to a victory for the Phins.
We get the win because the defense makes the big stop in the 4th. It will be Jrod and all of us that appreciated ZT, will believe he is the second coming. I think both Brooks and Jrod will both have double digit tackles as raiders will just try to run the ball and Chop gets a sack. Cousins will test CJ once but will avoid it after he almost gets a pick.
I know it doesn’t mention offense but everyone is about to know who Chris Bell is. This player is going to be a beast. My favorite comment so far is Steve Smith discussing Chris Bell. Freight Train is a coming
Jbellon2527 has several defensive standouts listed as contributors to the Phins predicted win.
My Prediction Brooks over 10 tackles
Rodriguez over 5 tackles
Tradder 1 INT
Robinson and Sieler 1 sack each
Miami wins 23 to 17
PA phinphan also has a strong list of defensive contributors on the way to a predicted win.
What are your predictions, bold or otherwise, for the Miami Dolphins defense in this coming Sunday’s game Vs the Las Vegas Raiders?
The defense gives up a couple of long tds because of mistakes made by young players (not necessarily rookies). However, they only yield those 2 tds along with 2 fgs, 20 pts, enough to win the game 28-20.
Who do you expect to lead the team in key categories like tackles, tackles for loss, pass breakups, interceptions, defensive touchdowns, etc?
Brooks and JRod each record 10 tackles. Brooks recovers the fumble forced by JRod.
Sieler leads with 3 tfls. Robinson and Phillips each register 1.5 sacks. Johnson shows why they were right drafting him in the first round with a couple pbus and a pick.
What are your stat-line projections for our key playmakers this week?
See above plus a sack by Willie Gay Jr
Louie the lobster says this will be a low-scoring game, with both offenses looking woeful.
My prediction is: this will be a low scoring game with both offenses being offensive.
Brooks with 11 tackles and Stache with 2 tfls and a sack.
Bold – Philips with an interception while dropping back in coverage.
Dolfanjoe has the defense carrying the day for the Phins.
Defense does its job and we win 16 – 13. Everyone is happy……………
MiamiItaliano has a couple of rookies stepping up and starring in their first NFL game.
Jacob Rodriguez 1 sack and 8 or more tackles. Chris Johnson gets a pick.
Phoenix6 has some bold predictions for the first game. Let’s hope the stat line looks like that.
What are your predictions, bold or otherwise, for the Dolphins defense in this Sunday’s game Vs the Raiders?
Sacks – 2/Interceptions – 2/Fumbles – 2
Who do you expect to lead the team in key categories like tackles, tackles for loss, pass breakups, interceptions, defensive touchdowns, etc?
Robinson – 12pressures/1sack
What are your stat-line projections for our key playmakers this week?
Brooks – 10tkls/2Tfl/1sack
Rodriguez – 6tkls/2forced-fumbles
JUK doesn’t know how the team will look in the secondary, but this might be their easiest test all season.
Honestly it’s really hard to say what to expect defensively. I expect is to be decent against the run but we’ve seen so little of Harley’s scheme I really don’t know how much he can cover for the personnel weakness in the secondary. We certainly won’t be a more gentle set of pass catchers all year to face especially now Bowers is out
It seems like there’s a lot of confidence in this new version of the Miami Dolphins defense. Let’s hope that all of you positive folks are dead on correct.
What are your predictions, bold or otherwise, for the Miami Dolphins offense in this coming Sunday’s game Vs the Las Vegas Raiders? Who do you expect to lead the team in key categories like receiving yards, touchdowns, receptions, rushing production, and first downs? I’m interested in your outlook for both the passing and rushing attacks—what are your stat-line projections for our key playmakers this week?
Dolfanjoe has a game plan: just run it down their damn throats.
Run the ball! Running backs run the ball. QB run the ball. Just keep getting first downs and a victory is ours!
Phoenix6 has the offense with a solid showing on Sunday behind a very solid run game.

My outlook for both the passing & rushing attacks—your stat-line projections for our key playmakers this week?
Total team rush yds – 185; Willis with 50 on the ground/280 in the air.
DolfaninME has high hopes for the Dolphins to represent in the coming seasons’ Pro Bowl.
The trick is to get this years pro bowlers instead of last years pro bowlers. I hope Miami has pulled that off with Willis, Bell, Achane and Rodriquez and Chris Johnson.
PA phinphan has the Phin with the win off a very solid offensive showing.

0ffense gains 400+ yards

Bell – 6 catches 120 yds 1 td
Washington – 8 receptions 85 yds 0 td
Achane – 115 yds rushing 2 td accounts for 8 first downs as well
I’m interested in your outlook for both the passing and rushing attacks—what are your stat-line projections for our key playmakers this week?
Willis – 18/27 265 yds 2 td 1 int 40 yds rushing
Gordon 10 carries for 40 yds
Dolphins win 28 – 20
jmworacle has a question that is either sarcasm or confusion.
How many series will the first team be allowed?
Gllmiaspr is yet another who sees this offense being very effective right out of the gate.
Ok, here it goes.
- Willis 250 Passing w 2 TD, 50 rushing , one int around 95 passer rating.
- Achane 20 carries, 150 yards, 2 TD
- Dulcich, 5 catches 80 yards.
- Malik Washington 7 catches, 100 yards.
Miami wins 28-27.
Well, that’s all of our comments for both questions. I am actually surprised at how positive everyone is about how this team will do tomorrow, especially on offense. Here’s to hoping all your collective positivity pays off with awesome results in tomorrow’s game against the Raiders. As always, thank you to each of you who took the time to join in on our Phinsider Questions Of The Day. Please join us tomorrow afternoon for our live game thread to follow and cheer on your Miami Dolphins with your fellow Phinsfans.
