Marcus Rashford is back with Manchester United to start pre-season after taking a few weeks off following England’s World Cup campaign, and he took the time to acknowledge and pay tribute to his time at Barcelona.
Rashford took to Instagram to write a heartfelt message of gratitude for a productive season spent at Camp Nou, with 14 goals and 14 assists in 49 appearances and a spectacular free-kick in El Clásico to help Barça clinch last season’s La Liga title against their biggest rivals.
His message
in full reads “I’m very grateful to everyone at the club for making my time here such a positive and memorable experience. I’ve enjoyed every moment and will take many special memories with me. I wish the club and all its supporters the very best of luck and every success in the season ahead. Visca el Barça”.
Rashford was hoping to stay at Barça beyond this season but the club decided not to exercise the €30 million buy option after his loan deal ended, and then signed Anthony Gordon for big money to occupy the left wing position.
It’s still unclear where Rashford’s future lies with Man Utd hoping to move him on a permanent deal this summer, but one thing’s for sure: he’ll always be grateful to Barça.
