That old saying, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure,” is often very true in the NFL. Whether it is NFL free agency, trades, or in the coaching carousel, teams are often recycling pieces that failed to stick with another team for one reason or another.
As was predicted multiple times over the last few months, hours after the Cleveland Browns moved on from HC Kevin Stefanski, the now former Browns coach was being treasured by other teams. The New York Giants have long been connected as a possible
landing spot for the six-year Cleveland coach, so it was no surprise to see them on the list along with the Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons:
The Giants and Titans fired their coaches in-season, while the Falcons cleaned house on Sunday night, getting a slightly early jump on “Black Monday.” Stefanski was the first coach let go on Monday morning after finishing his six seasons with a 45-56 record with the Browns that included two playoff appearances and two Coach of the Year awards.
