Axel Disasi’s six-month paid (yet involuntary) vacation may soon be over, with the 27-year-old defender hoping to find a club that will let him go back to work in the second half of the season. That club won’t
be Chelsea, despite his recent reintegration into first-team training, but it could be West Ham United.
According to L’Equipe, the Hammers have “made their interest known” and “begun discussions” about a potential loan. Defensive reinforcements (or at least depth) are apparently a priority for them in the final week of the transfer window, especially if Brighton & Hove Albion were to recall the lesser spotted Igor Julio.
We might recall that West Ham (among others) were linked with Disasi back in the summer as well, but a move failed to materialize at the time. L’Equipe claim that the Hammers are “not alone” in their interest this time around either, though they do not name any other clubs. AS Roma had been briefly linked earlier. Chelsea have freed up a couple international loan spots since then with the reported recalls of David Datro Fofana and Aarón Anselmino, so Disasi might have some more potential options available to him now.
