Boy, the Brewers are putting up a dud of a fight against the Dodgers, huh? The National League’s best team by record in 2025 has been pretty uncompetitive in two home games, and with two games at Dodger Stadium
on the horizon, it’s looking all the more likely that LA will waltz to its fifth pennant in nine years (and second in a row). Enthralling. I suppose the Brewers having the best NL record this year was always a bit of a mirage, as the Dodgers had the obvious best team in paper and they’re at their healthiest right about now. Alas.
Oh and the Yankees canned some coaches yesterday. Equally meaningful October day, eh?
Today on the site, I’ll have the (mercifully quick) recap of that game, Josh will run through the three biggest surprises of the 2025 Yankees season, Matt will peak in on the 2000 Yankees Diary, and Jeremy will muse on the power of hatred fueling the fight in the game. Then we’ll have some more ALCS action tonight as the Mariners eye a commanding 3-0 series lead while back home in Seattle for the Pacific Northwest’s first Championship Series Game since Lou Piniella made promises he couldn’t keep 24 years ago.
Championship Series Schedule:
Seattle Mariners vs. Toronto Blue Jays
ALCS Game 3 (SEA leads 2-0)
(RHP George Kirby vs. RHP Shane Bieber)
Time: 8:08 p.m. ET
TV: FS1
Venue: T-Mobile Park (Seattle, WA)
Questions/Prompts:
1. Do you have any hope in the Brewers bringing the NLCS back to Milwaukee?
2. How confident were you that we’d ever see a postseason complete game again prior to Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s gem last night? It was the first since Justin Verlander against the Yankees back in 2017.
