Ja’Marr Chase, the Cincinnati Bengals’ superstar wide receiver, has a new podcast called “Chasing No. 1,” starring himself and viral NFL social media influencer Annie Agar. For their debut show, they had none other than Joe Burrow, Bengals quarterback and Chase’s best friend.
Burrow didn’t hold back while on the show about how he felt about the Bengals’ 2026 season.
“I just want to win this year,” he said. “I just want to win. The rest will take care of itself. I think we’ll break a bunch of records
eventually, but I think we’re going to have a really good team that has a chance to win every game that we step foot on the field for. I don’t know about you, but I could really feel it in my bones, in my soul, in OTA’s this year — different from years past.”
While the offense managed to keep everyone together, the defense added Dexter Lawrence II, Jonathan Allen, Boye Mafe and Bryan Cook. The deep and talented defensive line has shifted from a weakness to a potential strength, which could have a trickle-down effect that benefits even the safeties.
Burrow knows the additions of the veteran defenders have increased the odds the Bengals have of going deep in the playoffs for the first time since 2023.
“We brought in a lot of the right guys, a lot of the right people with the right mindsets to go and chase this goal of winning a Super Bowl and winning as many games as we can and being the best possible team that we can,” he continued. “I felt it from our D-line. I felt it from our defense. Our offense has the same guys in years past… but these veteran guys that we brought in on defense to be able to help our younger guys.”
Hopefully he’s right. If the Bengals’ offense can stay healthy and play like they’re capable, and if the defense is just good—not great, but good—there aren’t many teams that could stand between them and the Lombardi Trophy.
