Bayern eyeing Yıldız? (Madrid Universal)
Is Bayern Munich looking to bring back the “one that got away?”
This report seems to indicate that Bayern Munich would like to have former academy star Kenan Yıldız move back to Bavaria for a spot on the first team:
Real Madrid are not the only club interested in the services of Yildiz and signing the Turk from Juventus won’t be a walk in the park for Los Blancos.
According to Corriere dello Sport (h/t Bernabeu Digital), Real Madrid are set to face competition from Bayern Munich in the race to sign
Yildiz. The Bavarians are particularly keen on Yildiz as the player has some history with the club, having spent 11 years in Bayern’s youth academy before leaving for Juventus in 2022.
Bayern Munich are more than keen on having Yildiz back in Bavaria, as the club are in desperate need of reinforcements in the creative department, amid complications over Jamal Musiala’s fitness.
While Yıldız is a massive talent, it seems doubtful that Juventus will want to part ways with the Türkiye international. It would also cost Bayern Munich far too much money to bring back Yıldız—who is currently out with a broken foot—to compete for time as a left winger or an attacking midfielder, where minutes are already scarce.
For now, it seems safe to say that Bayern Munich will probably let Real Madrid run with this pursuit on its own.
Chiesa open to going back to Italy (ESPN)
Liverpool attacker Federico Chiesa is reportedly open to a return to Serie A and might have some decent options in Inter Milan, Atalanta, and Lazio:
Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa is open to a return to Serie A ahead of the January transfer window, according to Calciomercato. Internazionale, Atalanta and Lazio are all monitoring the Italy international, who is seeking regular first-team football after struggling for opportunities at Anfield.
Chiesa might be this generation’s biggest “what if” player. He was never the same after that ACL injury.
Pickford not on Bayern’s radar (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
Contrary to previous reports, Bayern Munich is not exploring the possibility of bringing in Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford:
❌ It is NOT TRUE: Jordan Pickford is being looked at by Bayern Munich as a potential backup option to Jonas Urbig next season. There was a meeting this week talking about goalkeepers who could become the next Bayern No.2. Pickford was not highly rated on the list. It’s worth bearing in mind, when we talk about the position, that it’s not always easy to convince a No.1 goalkeeper to give the place away and become a No.2 at another club. Of course, on the other hand, being a No.2 at a club like Bayern Munich is a big thing. Urbig has played about 30 competitive matches for FC Bayern already, and he is the current No.2. So, many names were actually discussed in this meeting – but they were German names! Fulham’s Bernd Leno, as we’ve already reported on CF Bayern Insider, is an option.
However, there are also other ‘keepers like Finn Dahmen (FC Augsburg) and Oliver Baumann (who was the No.1 with Germany for a short time during the qualifying rounds for the World Cup). The 36-year-old wants to get the record for the most Bundesliga appearances, currently held by Charly Körbel (602 matches). He has to play a little bit more to get this record (currently on 527), but then he’ll have to stay at Hoffenheim, where he is the No.1. Then there is also Marvin Schwäbe (FC Köln), who is also on the list. So, Bayern are discussing a lot of players. I don’t know if Pickford would be No.2 at Bayern anyway, even if he were a serious target.
City not letting Haaland leave on the cheap (ESPN)
If Erling Haaland wants to eventually leave Manchester City because of the potential sanctions against the club, City will not let him leave at a discount:
Manchester City will refuse to allow striker Erling Haaland to leave on the cheap even if they face relegation as a result of their legal battle with the Premier League, reports Football Insider. Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona are paying close attention to the 26-year-old’s situation, but City hold a strong negotiating position as his contract runs until 2034 with no relegation release clause.
Cherki denies Olise rift (Get French Football News)
There were some oddball rumors that Bayern Munich star Michael Olise and Manchester City attacker Rayan Cherki might have had some kind of beef. Cherki, though, denied that was the case:
In Sunday’s edition of L’Équipe, a piece on Michael Olise’s rise to prominence within the France national team evoked the Bayern Munich forward’s relationship with Rayan Cherki.
Whilst there is a relationship on the pitch, the publication stated that off the pitch, Cherki was someone that Olise struggled to “understand”. L’Équipe added that the former Crystal Palace forward wasn’t appreciative of Cherki’s pranks in training, for example. In contrast to Olise, known to be very nonchalant but also quite introverted and generally shy, Cherki is perhaps the polar opposite.
However, Cherki has taken to X to dismiss the idea that there is any issue between him and his international teammate. “Another invention… magnificent inspiration,” said the Manchester City forward on the social media platform in a quote post of L’Équipe’s information.
Roma looking to add winger? (ESPN)
AS Roma could be looking at Jamie Leweling, who might be persona non grata at VfB Stuttgart, or Chelsea’s Jamie Gittens:
Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport has offered an insight into the names Roma are looking at as they aim to sign a winger. In the summer, they looked at Stuttgart’s Jamie Leweling and Chelsea’s Jamie Gittens, who have both had a lack of game time since the summer transfer window shut so could be available for less than was demanded before. They also want Real Madrid’s Endrick, hoping for a Donyell Malen-style deal where they have a loan with the option to make it permanent, and they aren’t alarmed by AC Milan’s interest. Frosinone’s Giorgi Kvernadze is another player of interest.
