The regular season is complete, and Texas A&M softball now knows their postseason destination. The Aggies earned the No. 15 national seed on Selection Sunday, and will host the College Station Regional at Davis Diamond beginning Friday, May 15.
The teams coming to College Station are UConn, McNeese and Trisha Ford’s former coaching stop, Arizona State. A&M hosts Big East Champions UConn (31-26)
at 1 p.m. Friday on ESPN2, while Big 12 Tournament Champions Arizona State (41-16) and Southland Tournament Champions McNeese (40-20) follow at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN+. All Aggie softball games can be heard on the 12th Man Mobile app or locally on Willy 1550 AM.
As is tradition, if A&M is able to advance this weekend, their likely Super Regional destination would be against Texas in Austin.
The Aggies are making their 36th NCAA Tournament appearance and 24th consecutive appearance, the seventh-longest active streak in the nation. Texas A&M will host an NCAA Regional for the 18th time in program history and for the third consecutive season, marking the program’s first three-year hosting stretch since 2011-13. The Maroon & White owns a 38-10 record when hosting regional play.
