The Minnesota Vikings found Justin Jefferson early in their Week 2 matchup against the Chicago Bears, and with that, Jefferson continued to climb the ladder in the team’s record books.
With his 30-yard reception in the first quarter, Jefferson officially passed Randy Moss for the second-most receptions as a member of the Minnesota Vikings with 588 for his career.
If you’re wondering, he has a little ways to go before he gets to #1, which is currently held by Cris Carter with 1,004 career receptions
in purple.
Jefferson has set his mark in significantly fewer games than Moss did. This is Jefferson’s 96th career game as a member of the Vikings, while Moss got his 587 receptions in 113 games in a Minnesota uniform.
In addition to his reception total, Jefferson also has Moss’ mark for the second-most receiving yards in team history in his sights as well. He is now 714 yards behind Moss after his 30-yard reception this afternoon.
