Tennessee picked up another commitment on Friday afternoon, landing four-star forward Manny Green. The 6-6 prospect is out of Ellenwood, Georgia, playing for Cedar Grove High School. Green announced his commitment live on the CBS Sports College Basketball Youtube page.
Green committed to Tennessee over the likes of Auburn,
Cal, Georgia Tech, South Florida. He ranks 91st overall in the class of 2026, according to 247Sports. Green is the fourth-ranked player in the state of Georgia.
Known for his athletic ability, Green can score from all three levels. He’s Tennessee’s second addition at wing in the class, joining the 6-8 Ralph Scott, who is also a four-star prospect.
On the EYBL circuit, Green operated primarily out of the 4-spot in lineups. He averaged 16 points per game while shooting 33 percent from three-point range. He has the length and athleticism that Rick Barnes likes, particularly on the defensive end of the floor.
Tennessee offered Green last summer and got him on campus for an official visit two weeks ago. 14 days later, he’s a Vol.
Rick Barnes continues to prioritize high school recruiting in a world that has become transfer portal obsessed. Keeping these guys in the program has paid dividends for Barnes, who just sent two homegrown talents to the professional ranks this summer. Look for that trend to continue under Barnes, while the portal is used to fill gaps here and there.
