Tony Khan announced last night that Bandido would take Brody King’s place in the trios match scheduled for Dynamite tonight (April ) with Darby Allin and Jack Perry against The Don Callis Family‘s Andrade El Idolo, Konosuke Takeshita & Mark Davis. AEW’s president and head booker only said that King would be away for something personal.
Many fans of King, and especially those who’ve followed him from his start in California and/or know him from the punk scene where he’s the lead singer of hardcore
band God’s Hate, connected the timing of Brody’s absence to the recent death of his friend Bo Lueders, a guitarist for the band Harm’s Way who earlier this month died at 38.
King confirmed that he would be spending the day remembering his late friend:
I promise I would much rather be at Dynamite than having to attend my friends funeral. Thank you to Bandido for being the best partner and stepping up in my absence and thank you to Tony for giving me the ability to be with my friends and family at this time. #Boluedersforver
Lueders was also friends with CM Punk and Danhausen, and the latter former AEW current WWE star posted a posed picture of some of those who gathered to remember Lueders today on his Instagram Story.
